How to program Spectrum remote to TV With Code?

  • Turn on your TV
  • Press and hold the ‘MENU’ and ‘OK’ button at the same time until the ‘INPUT’ button blinks twice
  • Enter the first code listed using the number keys according to the Brand of the TV [Look at codes list]
  • The ‘INPUT’ key will blink TWICE when the code is entered correctly
  • Test the power, volume functions, etc. If working properly, the setup is completed

Alternate method:- One digit input

For the most popular TVs, there is a quick one-digit method to pair the Spectrum remote to your TV. This method can be used to program for brands like Insignia, Dynex, LG, Zenith, Philips, Magnavox, TCL, RCA, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio.

  • Turn on your TV you want to program for
  • Press and hold the ‘MENU’ and ‘OK’ button until the ‘INPUT’ button blinks twice
  • Press and release the ‘TV’ key on the top left corner of the remote
  • Based on your TV brand denoted below, press and hold the appropriate key until your TV turns OFF

For example, if your TV is Samsung, press and hold the number 6 until the TV turns OFF.

How to set up the Spectrum remote to TV without code?

Follow these instructions to program the remote by auto-code search method. The remote control itself identifies the TV brand and pairs with it accordingly.

  • Turn on your TV
  • Press and hold the ‘MENU’ and ‘OK’ button until the ‘INPUT’ button blinks twice
  • Now, press the TV button on top of the remote
  • The INPUT button lights up  and stays solid
  • Point the remote to the TV, and press and hold the UP arrow
  • When the TV turns OFF, release the UP arrow.

How to program OLD Spectrum Charter remotes?

If you are using a very old model Spectrum Charter remote (Models 1060BC2/1060BC3) with a SETUP button on it, the way the remote is programmed is a little bit different from the new one. Let’s look at how.

In the first drop-down menu, select the Device type, and from the second drop-down menu, select the Brand name and list out the codes. In this way, you can find the codes for different types of devices like TVs, LCD TVs, DVD players, Cable boxes, st-top boxes, etc.

Once you find out the code, follow the instructions

  • Turn on your device and insert the appropriate video media, (DVD, Blu-ray, TV, etc.), if applicable.
  • Press the Device key on the remote (TV/DVD/AUX,/STB/CBL)
  • Then press and hold down the SETUP key until the selected mode key blinks twice
  • Enter the 5-digit key you found for the device brand
  • The Mode key will blink twice
  • Point the remote to the device and press the Power or Play button, the device should turn OFF

If the mode key blinks for a long time, you should retry with another code.
